Why I Work at CAMHS

I chose to work in CAMHS to support young people and families with the problems they are having. Sessions help young people (and their families) understand themselves more, and learn ways of managing their difficulties both now, and in years to come.

My Skills and Interests

I trained as a Clinical Psychologist at Liverpool University, and use mainly Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative approaches, and have an interest in Cognitive Analytical Therapy (CAT).  I’m currently working in the Single Point of Access (SPA) which offers Choice appointments to find out a young person’s needs and signpost them to the right service.  Another part of my role is liaison with schools, and offering brief intervention to families. I’m interested in the attachment relationship, cognitive assessment and working with trauma.

A Bit About Me

I wanted to work at McDonalds on roller-boots when I was growing up.  I enjoy being creative, like pottery, knitting, mosaics and make a good chocolate brownie!
