Why I Work at CAMHS

I used to work in Adult Mental Health and felt that for some individuals, if they received support for their emotional health and well-being as young people, that a lot of the difficulties they were struggling with would be reduced. I believe in giving support and intervention as early as possible and am passionate about using my training to help young people and their families manage the stresses of every life and develop skills and strategies to manage those stresses.

My Skills and Interests

I trained as an Occupational Therapist and worked in Adult Mental Health for 5 years. I trained in using the models CBT and family therapy and then moved to CAMHS as a Mental Health Practitioner and completed an MA in Child Observational Studies and recently completed training in Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy. I have worked in CAMHS now for 24 years including the 2 years that I worked in America.
